All arrangements have been concluded for the Annual General Meeting and Public Lecture of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, NIPR, Nasarawa State Chapter aimed at strengthening the capacity and capability of public relations professionals and mobilization of support for constituted authorities in the state.
Other activities to hold as part of the Annual General Meeting include; the election of new executive council of the organisation and subsequent inauguration of the elected officials.
In a press release signed by the Institute’s Public Relations Officer in the state, Ibrahim Onawo, and made available to Nasarawa Newsline on Wednesday, said the public lecture is themed: Public Relations, Governance and Democratic Dividends.
The lecture will be delivered by a renowned public relations expert and academic, Dr. Tyotom Keghku, Head of Department (Public Relations) Benue State University, Makurdi.
The AGM and other events featuring are critical in promoting development at the national and sub-national levels, rebuilding trust, renewing hope and enhancing good governance.
It will also provide a platform for effective, sustainable and well-focused framework for enhancing good governance and provision of dividends of democracy in Nasarawa State and the nation.
Speaking on the expectations of the gathering, State Presidential Resuscitation Committee Chairman, Compt. Joseph Attah Rtd, said the event would be a huge success as it brings members from the public and private sectors including the civil society organisations to elect new members, advocate good governance and people-oriented development.
“Nasarawa State Chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations is set to hold its Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Lafia.
“The topic for the public lecture is in line with the new policy of the NIPR geared towards mobilization of support for the constituted authorities and promotion of democratic ideals.
“The AGM is scheduled to hold on Friday, 12th April, 2024 at Tazu Luxury Hotel and Suites, Lafia by 10am” the statement read.
