The Kazaure Emirate Council in jigawa state has distributed food items worth over N33 million to over two thousand privileged person's in their domain as succor to the people under the present food crisis and economic hardship encountered by society's.
Speaking during the distribution exercise held in Roni local government of the Emirate, the Committee Chairman, Alhaji Bala Muhammad said, the food items was sourced from the farmers in form of Zakkat.
He said, farmers in the area contribute the food items out of their Zakkat and given to the committee for onward distribution to the appropriate persons.
Alhaji Bala added that, the committee will continue to collect the Zakkat from wellbeing persons and give it to the needy in accordance with Islamic injunctions.
" However, we are encouraging people to also invest in our "Wakaf ' Programme " Charity
Foundation " for expanding our program in supporting orphans, less privileges and people with persistent ailments, he remarks
In his speech His Highness the Emir of Kazaure Dr Najib Hussaini Adamu said, the Emirate has been using Zakkat as a means of supporting less privileges in the society and also strengthen the chain of brotherhood among the society.
The emir who was represented by Makaman Kazaure Alhaji Jamilu Umar Adamu thanks the committee and all people of the area for their kind cooperation in supporting collection and distributions of Zakkat in the Emirate over the years.
