Jigawa Awards Over N220bn Road Projects, Warn Contractor's Against Substandard Job

Henceforth any Contracting firms handling roads project's across jigawa state found using un-authentic financial documents, nor executing substandard work will be blacklisted, Director-General Jigawa State Due Process and Projects Monitoring Bureau , Dr Muhammad Kasim, has threatened. He serve the warning while speaking during a bid opening for the award of 46 roads covering over 738.9 km across jigawa state. The works cover's renovation and construction of 46 roads covering over 738.9 km across the state.

Dr. Kassim explained that suspicion was raised at various times regarding poor Performance, issuance of fake Bank guarantee, advance Payment Guarantee, and other related contractual financial security documents presented by some companies.

In view of that, government has taken cogent measures in ensuring that in every document presented by any Construction firms must be fully verified, authenticated, and satisfactory by jigawa state government.

“Taking this urgent steps is Paramount just to entrench probity a countability, dedication, honesty and fear of God for us to encourage the entusiasm and competent, and deficated of contractors who always present genuine documents obtained from reliable and reputable financial institutions, as failure to comply with our directives is tantamount to attract blacklisting the affected construction firms"

“Our goals was to emphasizes on companies that meet up all contractual obligations

and agreement in the cause of executing the job given to them by Jigawa State government including timely completions of the projects on scheduled.

He assured Contractors that the Due Process and Projects Moni ctoring Bureau will ensure the protection of contractors’ right including timely payment and other Government obligations for any awarded contract,” DG Due Process declared.

In his speech, the permanent secretary of Jigawa State Ministry of Works and Transport, Qs Ahmad Isa, said that as part of the commitment of Governor Umar Namadi’s administration to bridge the infrastructure gap, facilitate the movement of goods and services for social and economic development, a bid contract for major renovation and reconstruction of 42 roads was opened, explained that the road projects with total length of over 738.9km will cost over N222.7 billion.
