Jigawa state Commissioner for Local government employees has enjoined member's of NULGE in jigawa state to resist any temptations that will engage them to wrongdoings in the cause of their legitimate function's, and promised to reward hardworking employees with promotions. Also encouraged them to report any unlawful activities in their areas of assignment so that appropriate actions could be taken.
“As long as I remain Commissioner, anything to be enjoyed by members will be on merit rather than favoritism,” he stated. “In my time, there will be no sacred cows when it comes to legal service; everyone will be considered according to their performance.”
The State Commissioner for Local Government and Community Development, Honourable Ahmed Garba MK, stated this while delivering his remarks after receiving an award from the National Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Jigawa state chapter.
He commended NULGE for the gesture done to him, equally called on Staffer's of the 27 LGA'S to be dedicated, and of good ambassador's of peace, hard work, and of sound desciplined for improve service delivery.
He then announced a plan initiative aimed for a car loan Program for local government employees, stressing a standing Committee to that effects has been set up.
Other Committee includes Committee for upliftment if LGA'S staff welfare with terms of reference as identifying areas of conflicts with regard to promotion, support, logistics, welfare, training and desciplined.
Others includes problems associated with dusperity in staff promotion, training, and condition of service to.progger
solutions to the state government in taking proper measures to enhance local government administration across jigawa state.
MK highlighted Governor Malam Umar Namadi’s efforts to serve the community, noting that the Ministry for Local Government has sponsored free hernia surgeries for over 810 at thirty- thirty patients per each of the 27 LGA'S community members in the state.
Comrade Abubakar Garba Shitu, the State Chairman of NULGE, praised the Commissioner for his good performance, which warranted NULGE to award the Commissioner with an Award of Excellent Performance.
Least of the Commissioner's performance includes prompt and steady payment of salaries, allowances, and other benefits due to our members, promotion of good enabling working environment, training and promotion.
Others include ensuring an effective operational services delivery at the Ministry of local.givernnent, increased staffer's productivity among others.
Based on these attributes, NULGE viewed it fit to Accord this investure on the Commissioner as a mark of respect and honor, said the jigawa NULGE Chairman.
